RIG are offering free MAPA® training for all registered mental health nurses. MAPA® training will be a full day course run by professional trainers who will provide you with the skills and confidence for reducing the need for physical violence.
Due to the 'Positive and Proactive Care' guidelines recommended by the Government to support professional staff in potential risks associated with working alongside people with challenging behaviours, RIG wants to ensure you are adhering to the right regulatory requirements. MAPA® training equips you with skills that will boost confidence in defusing of potentially challenging situations as well as strengthening relationships between colleagues and with those in your care. A MAPA® certificate acts as evidence of staff competence to deliver care and support to service users, with results showing reduced frequency of physical interventions ensuring safety for you and the service users.
We want to ensure that you are fully prepared with the right knowledge and skills to allow to you to work safely from the first day of your new role with RIG Healthcare. At the end of your training you will receive a training card and certificate of completion for your own records.
Training will take place on the 6th, 7th and 8th February 2018
At the Comfort Inn Hotel, Station St, Birmingham B5 4DY
