Phlebotomists are specialised Clinical Support Workers or Assistant Healthcare Scientists who collect blood from patients needed for examination in laboratories, in order to help diagnose illness. Once the blood is taken, Phlebotomists are then responsible for transporting the specimen to the correct laboratory. They sometimes have to travel to collect samples too.
