The recovery room nurse work within recovery rooms or post-anesthesia care units (PACU’s) and focus on a patient recovery following surgery or medical procedure usually whilst patients are still under the effects of anesthesia. This role involves the detection and treatment of early post-operative complications and as such recovery room nurses are extensively trained in critical care.
