We are seeking Senior Physiotherapist to join our growing client based in Birmingham.

This is a permanent full-time position with salary dependent on experience up to £39K pa

Main Purpose of the Job
The main purpose of this role is to ensure the effective provision of an Occupational Health Physiotherapy Service to the Customer.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Provide accurate clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment whether this be face to face or over the telephone
Following individual assessments provide a report to management indicating an employee’s fitness to work and any adjustments to their role which may be required
If working on-site, identify hazards within the workplace and assess the risk of the identified hazards causing or aggravating an individual’s musculoskeletal ill health
Conduct DSE/Vehicle assessments as required and provide prophylactic advice and if necessary any recommendations for changes to equipment
Provide other team members with information regarding any work practice or working environment changes that are required on a short or long-term basis
To maintain clinical objectivity at all times, with the patient’s wellbeing in mind
Deliver effective rehabilitation of employees with musculoskeletal disorders, whether they be work related or not
To incorporate a holistic approach to patient management, which takes into account the Biopsycosocial Model.
Complete comprehensive assessment and treatment records using Therapy Direct Healthcare forms
Collection of statistical information for report generation
Contribute to/run health promotion events


General Tasks & Responsibilities:
To take initiative in maintaining individual professional development in order to continue to deliver the most appropriate interventions at all times.
To maintain good communication and relations with the client’s Human Resources and Line Management
To liaise, as regularly as is needed with your line manager and in certain situations other Therapy Direct Healthcare staff.
To have an understanding of, and work within, the agreed client Key Performance Indicators.
To prioritise work tasks, and time manage to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within set timescales
To take initiative and responsibility within your site and actively contribute to the overall effectiveness of the clinical service
Be aware of responsibilities placed upon you under the Health & safety at Work Act (1974) and ensure that agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe environment for all
To undertake any other duties compatible with the grading of the post, as required

Education & Qualifications

Formal Clinical Physiotherapy Qualification (E)
Full Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (E)
Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (E)
Evidence of continuing professional development (E)
Post-graduate training in Occupational Health/Ergonomics (D)
Member of Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health & Ergonomics (D)
Experience & Knowledge

Experience of using computer software including Microsoft Office (E)
Occupational Health Physiotherapy experience (D)
Previous experience of using online/computerised reporting templates/databases (D)
Experience of providing Health Education/Promotion and fitness for work advice (D)
At least 3 years postgraduate clinical experience (D)
Skills & Abilities

Efficient and well organised with the ability to work with minimum supervision
Clear and effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
Ability to provide detailed reporting to the client on patient progress using standardised report templates
Ability to audit clinical records and outgoing reports to ensure that core clinical standards are maintained
A good understanding of clinical governance
